  Product Registration and Action Log

Product Registration

We are trying to prepare for the release of the first expansion pack, which will include lots of new aircraft such as the Russians. Since this is not a free add on, we need a way of tracking who has the expansion pack and who doesn't (and it will help cut down on piracy in general).

IMPORTANT NOTE: We will be phasing in the product registration process. Initially, all the menus and forms that you see below will be active, but we will NOT restrict game play based on product registration. Once we have given players a week or two to get registered, we will then start restricting games based on product registration.

We will add a new item to the Tools menu as shown below:

Enter you user name and password, and the serial number for each product that you wish to register. If you have previously logged online and checked the “Save Credentials” option on the logon form, the user name and password will be filled in for you automatically.

After you have entered a serial number and clicked the Save button, that serial number is tied to that user. The next time you bring up the Register Products screen, any products you have already registered will be displayed in a read-only text box as shown above.

Note that for those of you who have been playing for awhile, we will do our best to identify you and “pre-register“ you for the regular game, but if we miss you for any reason, just send an e-mail to difadmin@battlefront.com and we'll resolve it.

When you attempt to play a game (either local or online), the application will check to see which aircraft your pilots have available to them based on which products you have registered. For purposes of demonstration, the Me-410 has been associated with “Expansion Pack #1” instead of with the base “Down in Flames 1.0” product. Note that in the example below, the Me-410 does not show up in the list of available aircraft.

This user has now registered the “Expansion Pack #1” product, so he should have access to the Me-410 aircraft.

The Me-410 now shows up in the list.

Action Log

We have added an action log to the game that tracks the important events as they take place in a mission. Sometimes players have questions about why their opponent received an extra card (i.e., did he use a “Draw Extra Card“ skill, or some other skill). The Action Log should help figure out what happened, and if you choose the option of saving to file, you will have a nice log of what happened in your game.
